A lot of people have been asking about printing their grades in a “gradebook” view from PowerGrade. The instructions for this and many other relevant topics are on the Shelby County Schools Information Systems website: http://www.scsk12.org/psinfo/index.html Check this website often for new information on how to use PowerGrade. Also, I have attached the directions below.

The August edition of the Technology and Learning magazine has a very interesting article about wikis – what they are, how they work, implications for education, where to find some, etc. I thought the article does a great job of providing information and resources about this hot topic. I saved the article as a pdf file and attached or you can check out the article online – the article provides links to other web resources on this subject. The URL for the article is http://www.techlearning.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=191801354

If you are interested in adding a comment to a student’s score in PowerGrade (i.e. the paper was late or modified, etc.), you click in the cell containing the score to which you wish to add the comment. Type apple+n to get the comment box to show. Type your comment and click OK. The score becomes red in color to denote that a comment is attached. REMEMBER: This comment is visible to the student’s parent viewing the grades online!

Help with PowerSchool is now available through the Shelby County website! More information will be added as it is developed. When you have a question about PowerSchool, just go to this website, http://www.scsk12.org/psinfo/index.html, and see if materials have been developed that will help you.

Teachers,
Several of you are sending me email stating you are having trouble getting on to your dropbox. The problem is that pesky domain name change thing! In the past, you typed the address in one of these two ways:
altruriaes
altruriaes.scs.k12.tn.us
NOW, it has to be like this: altruriaes.scsk12.org (remember to use the name of your school in place of “altruria”!)
Many of you had saved the address in Connect to Server box that pops up when you choose Go -> Connect to Server. Click once on the old address and click the Remove button from the bottom of the box. You can then add the address back the correct way.
I hope this helps clear up this problem!

As you may have discovered, the instructions for creating a homeroom roster did not include directions for printing it. I worked with a teacher today and think we have discovered how to do this. Once you have created the report (or any other report, for that matter), there is a Preview button. When you click the Preview button, there is a Print button at the bottom of that report. However, when you click that Print button, it does not print. So, after you have created the report, click OK which closes that box. Then, choose Print from the Reports menu. A dialog box will ask which report you would like to print. Choose your report and click OK. A Page Setup window opens which will allow you to print in portrait or landscape view. Click OK and the Print dialog box will open. Choose the printer and click Print. Hope this helps! Remember, we are all learning this together!

You may or may not realize that there a multitude of reports you can print from PowerSchool. In fact, that information may or may not even thrill you at this time! However, you might be wishing there was just some way you could print your class roll! I have good news for you today! There is indeed a way to print just a class roster report from PowerSchool. Pam Laurenzi, a fellow energetic and enthusiastic CTT, has created this step sheet to help you do this. I am attaching it below. Enjoy and good thoughts go out to Pam L. for sharing!
