I know it has been a long, long time since I have posted here. As you know, there were quite a few projects going on this fall. Hopefully, we are more into the basic routine for the remainder of the year with no new “biggies” coming our way. These are some websites I have been collecting for some time now. Just had a few minutes today to sit down to post them. I hope you will find them useful. Pay extra attention to those sites I mention as good eBeam or SmartBoard activities. As soon as I get them posted, I will start the next collection. Hopefully, I will get them posted much sooner than these were in coming! As always, let me know if you have some “special requests” for topics!

Long time – no blog! I have been very busy at the beginning of this school year trying to get some of the new people trained – yeah! We now have more help which should give me more time to work with students and teachers! As always, I want to get in your classrooms and work with your students using technology. I realized that there a lot of new people in some of my schools who have never had any experience with the Entourage calendar invitations. I use these to inform and invite you to any TOC Sessions being held at your school. Your response helps me prepare for these sessions by insuring I have sufficient handouts available. Here is a sheet that shows how it works.

During the email migration recently, changes were also made to the webmail feature of our email. One of those changes is that you can now search the scsk12.org database for email addresses. I have created a step sheet for you to follow to do this. Download it below…

Several (aka MANY) teachers have been experiencing more problems with their laptops. While age (of the laptop, of course) is certainly a factor, the lack of routine maintenance is also an issue! I am attaching (once again) directions for running Software Update and the Disk Utility. Another tip for those of you who just put your laptop to sleep every day: RESTART! I find that my laptop will begin to run slow and do weird things when I go days at a time without shutting down or restarting my laptop. I think if you will do these things, you will extend the life of your laptop!
